Dr Filippo Adamo
Dr. Adamo is the founder of the Bay Area Vet MRI Center.
Dr. Adamo is a native of Rome, Italy, and in 1986 graduated from the University of Pisa (Italy) School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1991 he completed the internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a residency in Neurology at the University of Bern, Switzerland.
In 1997 Dr. Adamo earned the Diplomate status from the European College of Veterinary Neurology board
From 2002 to 2007 he served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology & Neurosurgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI.
In 2006 the American Veterinary Medical Association recognized the competence of Dr. Adamo with the ECFVG certification. In the same year Dr. Adamo moved to Bay Area California, founded a local consulting neurology/neurosurgery service and he is currently Chief of Neurology at Beacon Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Fremont, California.
Dr. Adamo developed an alternative medical treatment for GME, designed a frameless guided stereotactic CT brain biopsy, investigated alternative medical therapy for brain meningioma, and developed the first artificial disc implantation for the treatment of Disc Associated Wobbler Syndrome in dogs.

When he manages some free time, Dr. Adamo enjoys spending time with his son, his rescued dog and cat, and surfing.
