How to schedule your MRI appointment

MRI can be sent to us for imaging only by other veterinarians without the case being referred to us.
Contact us directly on (650) 437-2042 to schedule your MRI appointment or if you have any queries or need clarification of the referral imaging process.
Bay Area Vet MRI requires a brief neurological history, recent medical records, the specification of the anatomical area/s to be scanned (Brain, Cervical spine, T-L spine, L/S spine, Brrachial Plexus ) and a Pre General Anesthetic (CBC/Chemistry panel) blood work to ensure that the scan will be safe and effective
The Pre General Anesthetic blood work should be done in the 2 weeks prior to the MRI procedure
If the Pre General Anesthetic blood work has not been done or the referring veterinarian has not provided results of this, we reserve the right to perform a Pre General Anaesthetic blood screen on the day of the procedure at an additional cost to the owner.
- If most recent lab work show abnormalities and/or if the patient is not stable, we reserve the right to rerun lab work the day of the MRI study

Admission and Discharge

The client will have an admission and discharge appointment with a Registered Veterinary Technician, and will be evaluated by our clinicians.
Clients will be expected to pay in full for imaging on the day of the procedure.
We accept most debit and credit cards as forms of payment.
We will not discuss imaging results with the owners, give any treatments or treatment recommendations.*
* Except in emergency situations where the patient’s health and welfare is at risk, in such cases we will always try to contact the referring veterinarians and keep them informed.
