The appointment has to be requested by a Veterinarian.
How to request the appointment:
- Contact us directly on (650) 437-2042 to schedule your MRI appointment, or if you have any queries or need clarification of the referral process.
- Please fill out or have your assistant fill out the MRI Scan Request Form on our website MRI scan request form
- Once we receive the fill out form, we will call the pet’s owner to schedule the MRI appointment
- You can also attach to the MRI request a copy of the medical record and the recent lab work (CBC and Chemistry panel), alternatively you can send it directly to [email protected]
- The blood work should be no older than 2 weeks prior to the MRI procedure
- If the blood work has not been done or the results were not provided, we reserve the right to perform a Pre-General Anesthetic blood screen on the day of the procedure at an additional cost to the owner.
- If the most recent lab work shows abnormalities and/or if the patient is not stable, we reserve the right to rerun lab work the day of the MRI
study, or the MRI may need to be rescheduled - Please instruct the pet’s owner to not feed the pet after 10:00PM the day prior to the MRI appointment, and to withdrawal water 4 hours before the
MRI appointment.
Our Service Includes:
- Physical and neurological evaluation by a Board Certified Veterinary Neurologist prior to the MRI +/- CSF tap
- Preliminary MRI report with the suspected diagnosis will be provided on the same day, the report will be finalized after the results of the CSF tap, if performed
- Final report with the suspected diagnosis, and treatment recommendations will be provided to the referral veterinarian and to the owner.
For Surgical Patients:
- If surgery is needed, the patient can be either returned to the referral veterinarian to have surgery performed at a location of their choice,
- Alternatively, upon request, surgery can be performed by Dr. Filippo Adamo, board-certified veterinary neurologist, at one of the surgical facility adjacent to the MRI center.
For Medical patients:
- Long-term medical management with re-check appointments and blood work (when needed) can be performed by the primary veterinarian.
- Remote consultation with the referral veterinarian on the case, will be available upon request at an additional cost.
Payment:
- Clients will be expected to pay in full for imaging on the day of the procedure.
- We accept most debit and credit cards as forms of payment.
- We also accept Care Credit as payment.
