Clinical Case Focus: Persistent Eyelid Fistula & Advanced Imaging

A challenging neurological case highlights the critical role of advanced diagnostic imaging when standard therapies stall.

A small dog presented with a two-month history of progressive upper eyelid swelling and an persistent fistula, initially investigated for a suspected foreign body (foxtail). Despite broad-spectrum medical therapy—and treatment with amikacin based on culture sensitivity—the condition failed to resolve.

Following a referral from the ophthalmology team, the patient underwent an MRI in our newly inaugurated operating suite to identify the underlying structural or deep-tissue pathology.

Below are the imaging findings, surgical exploration details, and case resolution.
